Project Engineer - NRCFOSS

• FOSS Lab

Worked as Project Engineer at NRC-FOSS Mumbai Node at VJTI College during academic year 2007-08. The main responsibility involved managing of FOSS Lab allocated in the college for students to use and get familiar with FOSS. The lab consisted of 30 client machines running Ubuntu and a server running on Debian GNU/Linux.

• FOSS Evangelism

The work also involved spreading the use of FOSS inside and outside the college

• Seminars & Workshops

I co-ordinated and organised seminars and workshops on topics likes Basics of Linux, Python, GCC, Bash Scripting.

Management Consultant & IT Administrator - Progress Partners

• Standard Operating Procedures

During the pre-ERP implementation stage our team would visit the client's premises to understand and note down the working of each department in the client's office. We then prepared the SOP document and flowchart to map the working of each department.

• ERP Implementation - Sage Accpac

Once the SOP stage is over, our team took over the task of co-ordinating and assisting ERP implementation team. We also acted as intermediaries for communication between ERP implementation team and client's employees to facilitate smooth communication and speedy retrival of data.

• Linux Server Installation & Management

I installed and administered Linux Server running CentOS. The server provided following services

• HTTP Server
• Email Server
• DNS Server
• Jabber Server

Besides, I also managed 15 local machines running fedora on which following services were used

• Squid Proxy
• FreeIPA
• NFS
• Thinstation
• Installation, Configuration & Management of Business Applications
